1. About The Manse Method®
The Manse Method® is a registered trade mark.
The Manse Method® practitioner training is designed for existing practitioners and is intended to provide an additional method that may be used alongside an individual’s existing professional practice, qualifications and scope of competence.
Completion of training does not replace any professional qualification, regulatory requirement, licence, insurance, safeguarding obligation or duty of care applicable to the practitioner.
Practitioners remain responsible for determining whether the method is appropriate for an individual client and whether its use falls within their own professional competence and scope of practice.
2. Eligibility for practitioner training
Admission to The Manse Method® practitioner training is subject to our entry requirements.
We may require an expression of interest and an informal conversation before a place is offered.
Submission of an expression of interest does not guarantee acceptance onto the training.
We reserve the right to decline an application where we reasonably consider that the training is not appropriate for the applicant’s professional background, intended use or current scope of practice.
3. Training delivery
The Manse Method® practitioner training is currently delivered online.
The core practitioner training comprises two days and provides 15 CPD hours.
The training includes theoretical teaching, practical work, supervised practice and assessment.
Participants are expected to attend the full programme, participate appropriately and comply with any reasonable training, confidentiality and professional-conduct requirements communicated before or during the course.
4. Certification
Attendance at the training does not automatically confer certification.
Following training, participants must complete the applicable certification requirements, which currently include:
- the practical assessment undertaken during training;
- five written case studies; and
- five video case studies.
Certification is awarded only when the required work has been completed to the standard determined by Manse Core Group.
A person who has attended training but has not completed certification must not describe themselves as a Certified Manse Method® Practitioner.
5. Duration of certification and annual quality assurance
Practitioner certification is valid for 12 months.
To maintain current certification, practitioners must complete the annual quality-assurance requirements set by Manse Core Group.
The current annual requirement includes submission of two client-session videos each year for quality review.
Additional reasonable quality-assurance requirements may apply where necessary to maintain professional or training standards.
Practitioners are responsible for monitoring their own certification expiry date and completing the required annual quality-assurance process.
If certification expires before the annual quality-assurance requirements have been completed, the practitioner must pause representing themselves as a current Manse Method® Practitioner and must pause using The Manse Method® with clients until the requirements have been satisfactorily completed and current status has been confirmed.
6. The Manse Method® trade mark
The Manse Method® is a registered trade mark.
Payment for or completion of training does not purchase the trade mark, assign any intellectual-property rights, or grant an unrestricted or perpetual licence to use The Manse Method® name, logo, practitioner badge, certification marks, training materials or other brand assets.
Any permission given to a practitioner to use The Manse Method® name or associated branding in connection with their professional services is:
- limited;
- personal to that practitioner;
- non-transferable;
- subject to these Terms;
- subject to current certification and applicable quality-assurance requirements; and
- capable of being withdrawn where these conditions are no longer met.
A practitioner whose certification has expired, been suspended or been withdrawn must not present themselves as a current, certified or authorised Manse Method® Practitioner.
Unless Manse Core Group agrees otherwise in writing, they must also cease using current-practitioner logos, certification badges, directory credentials and other materials that could reasonably give the impression that they remain currently certified or authorised.
A former practitioner may accurately state as a matter of historical fact that they previously completed training, provided that statement is not presented in a way that suggests current certification, current authorisation, endorsement or an ongoing relationship with Manse Core Group.
The Manse Method® name must not be:
- incorporated into a practitioner’s own business or trading name;
- registered as a domain name, company name, social-media identity or trade mark;
- adapted, copied or used to create a competing or derivative method;
- used to train, certify or authorise other people;
- used in a way that misrepresents the practitioner’s status; or
- used after permission has been withdrawn in circumstances where the use implies continuing authorisation.
We reserve the right to require the removal or correction of any use of The Manse Method® name, logo or associated intellectual property that we reasonably consider inaccurate, misleading, unauthorised or damaging to the integrity of the method.
7. Intellectual property and training materials
All intellectual-property rights in The Manse Method® training, teaching materials, manuals, videos, presentations, assessments, diagrams, processes, course content and associated resources remain the property of Manse Core Group Limited or the relevant rights holder.
Training materials are provided for the participant’s personal professional use only.
They must not be:
- reproduced;
- republished;
- sold;
- licensed;
- distributed;
- uploaded publicly;
- shared with untrained third parties;
- used to create another training programme; or
- used to teach or certify others,
without our prior written permission.
Elements of the practitioner method that are taught as proprietary training content must not be published or taught publicly without written authorisation.
8. Recording of training
Participants must not audio-record, video-record, screen-record, photograph, copy or stream training sessions or training materials without our express permission.
This protects both our intellectual property and the privacy of other participants.
9. Client-session recordings and case materials
Where a practitioner submits a client-session video, case study or other client material for certification or annual quality assurance, the practitioner is responsible for ensuring that they have a lawful basis for making the recording and submitting it to us.
The practitioner must obtain any informed consent required from the client before recording or submitting material.
Clients must understand the purpose for which the material will be used, who may review it and how it will be handled.
Practitioners should disclose no more personal information than is reasonably necessary for assessment or quality assurance.
Submitted material must not be used for publicity, marketing, teaching demonstrations or any purpose outside the agreed assessment or quality-assurance process without separate appropriate permission.
10. Confidentiality
Training may involve discussion of professional experiences, demonstrations or practice exercises.
Participants must respect the confidentiality and privacy of other participants and must not disclose personal or identifying information learned during training.
The same principle applies to practitioner community meetings, supervision, quality-assurance activities and other professional support provided by us.
11. Professional responsibility
Certified practitioners operate independently.
They are not employees, agents, partners or representatives of Manse Core Group merely because they have trained in or are certified in The Manse Method®.
Each practitioner remains independently responsible for:
- their own professional practice;
- suitability screening;
- informed consent;
- safeguarding;
- confidentiality;
- professional boundaries;
- insurance;
- record keeping;
- data protection;
- compliance with applicable law;
- compliance with the requirements of any professional body to which they belong; and
- working within their competence and professional scope.
Inclusion in our practitioner directory does not make us responsible for services provided independently by that practitioner.
12. Practitioner directory
We may list currently eligible practitioners in the public practitioner directory.
Inclusion in the directory is subject to our directory and certification requirements and is not guaranteed indefinitely.
We may remove, suspend or amend a listing where:
- certification has expired;
- annual quality assurance is outstanding;
- information is inaccurate;
- the practitioner asks to be removed;
- professional concerns arise; or
- continued listing would in our reasonable opinion be inappropriate.
Removal from the directory does not itself erase the historical fact that a person completed training.
It does, however, mean that the individual must not imply that directory membership or current authorisation continues.
13. Fees and payment
Training fees are stated before a booking is completed.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, payment is required in accordance with the payment terms supplied at booking.
A place is not confirmed until any required payment has been received and we have confirmed the booking.
14. Consumer cancellation rights
Where you purchase training as a consumer through a distance contract, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the contract.
Nothing in these Terms removes or restricts rights that you have under applicable consumer law.
Where you ask us to begin providing a service during the statutory cancellation period, we may ask you to expressly request early performance and acknowledge the consequences for your cancellation rights.
If a training date occurs during the cancellation period, we will provide any additional information or consent process required by law.
After any applicable statutory cancellation period has ended, cancellation or transfer requests will be dealt with in accordance with the booking conditions provided to you and our legal obligations.
15. Cancellation or changes by us
We may occasionally need to change a trainer, date, timing, platform or other administrative element of the programme.
Where a material change is necessary, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected participants.
If we cancel a training programme and cannot offer a reasonable alternative, fees paid for the cancelled training will be refunded.
We are not responsible for indirect losses or costs, such as loss of earnings, arising from a change or cancellation, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Technology
Online training requires a suitable internet connection, camera, microphone and device.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that their own technology is suitable.
We are not responsible for individual connectivity or equipment problems outside our reasonable control.
17. Outcomes
Training, certification and use of The Manse Method® do not guarantee any particular outcome for either practitioner or client.
Any examples, practitioner experiences, testimonials or case material describe individual experiences and should not be interpreted as a promise of results.
18. Website information
We take reasonable care to keep the website accurate and current but may update training details, professional standards, quality-assurance requirements or other information from time to time.
Where an individual practitioner profile appears on the website, the practitioner is responsible for providing accurate information about their own qualifications, professional status and services.
19. Suspension or withdrawal of certification
We may suspend, decline to renew or withdraw certification where we reasonably consider this necessary to protect clients, professional standards, the integrity of The Manse Method® or our intellectual property.
Examples may include:
- failure to complete annual quality assurance;
- material misuse of the trade mark;
- misrepresentation of certification status;
- teaching or distributing proprietary training content without permission;
- serious professional or safeguarding concerns;
- failure to maintain appropriate professional insurance where required; or
- conduct that materially conflicts with the standards attached to certification.
Where appropriate, we will seek to communicate the reason and any steps required before certification can be reinstated.
20. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to those restrictions, we are not responsible for services provided independently by certified or formerly certified practitioners.
Practitioners are responsible for their own professional decisions and client work.
21. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Additional information may be provided where personal information is collected for assessment, certification or quality assurance.
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The version applicable to a particular training booking will normally be the version supplied or made available when the booking is made, subject to any change required by law or subsequently agreed with you.
Certification and ongoing quality-assurance requirements may be updated prospectively where reasonably necessary to maintain standards.
23. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of any mandatory rights or protections available to you under the law applicable where you live.
